Evie's Story

She's beauty, she's grace, she's feisty, and sometimes shy with tuna taste -- she's Evie. This little girl likes to take her time getting to know someone new, but once she trusts you, she's all play and happy to be picked up for pets -- just don't hold her too long, as she never wants to miss out on any possible fun. Behind her gorgeous markings and upfront reserved demeanor is a sweet, playful kitty who wants to be with other cats and humans, if not necessarily on their laps.

With some hand-fed treats and soft pets, she will relax, but needs to have a safe space to retreat too, preferably high up, when she's ready for some down time. She's the first of her littermates to start grooming and caretaking the others, but also loves to attack tails and run in hopes of being chased.

Evie would do best in a household where she has another adult or kitten friend play with. She would be super happy to be adopted with her foster sister Midnight if you don’t have another cat to keep her company. She absolutely loves snuggling the other cats in the house and if you bring out a feather wand, she will run and jump until she's worn out. She does well with children but may do best in a home with older children, as young ones and too much noise tend to scare her.

If she was human, her favorite movie would be Miss Congeniality.

If you've got calm home and extra love to give, Evie is for you!

Currently in foster care in Pico-Robertson. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation.

NOTE: Applications for single kittens into a household containing no other cats will not be approved — please consider adopting a pair instead!
For more information:
http://www.kittenlady.org/twokittens

All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption.

To begin the application process, please fill out our application here: https://form.jotform.com/212117959297062

We will try our best to be in touch within 24-48 hours.

Thank you!
____________________
Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.

We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.

We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.

When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family.

If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
Please send us an email at delgatorescue@gmail.com to be a part of our rescue community. Thanks for your support!
