Evangeline's Story
Still Waiting… But Still Full of Love | Transport Available Nationwide

Hi… I’m Evangeline. I may not be the cat who runs up to everyone right away—but if you give me a chance, I’ll quietly become one of the most special parts of your life.

I spent the first couple years of my life surviving on the streets, doing everything I could just to make it through each day. A kind police officer eventually trapped me so I could finally be safe. When my foster mom first met me, she could see right away that I had been through a lot. I have scars on my neck from an old attack… little reminders of a life I’m so ready to leave behind.

But even with all of that, it didn’t take long for me to learn that not all humans are scary. Now when my foster mom comes in, I run to greet her. 🐾

I can be a little shy at first—but that’s only because I’ve learned to be careful. If you give me patience and kindness, I will open up in the most beautiful way. I love gentle pets, soft voices, and when I really trust you, I’ll give you my little nose bumps—my “Eskimo kisses”—to show you how much I care.

I’m happiest in a calm, peaceful home. I love lounging in sunny windows, watching birds, and quietly keeping you company. I don’t need chaos—I just need comfort, safety, and someone who understands me.

I would do best as the only cat, but I can live with calm, respectful dogs.

I am FIV positive, and because of that, I’m constantly overlooked… but I wish people knew that it doesn’t change the kind of companion I am. I don’t need expensive or special care—just routine vet visits, good food, fresh water, and a safe indoor home. With that, I can live a long, happy, completely normal life.

FIV Care Guide

FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) simply means my immune system needs a little extra support—but it doesn’t define me.

• I can safely live with other friendly cats if everyone gets along (it spreads mainly through deep bite wounds).
• I do best as an indoor cat where I can stay safe and healthy.
• Regular vet care and a low-stress home keep me thriving.
• I can live a long, full, happy life—just like any other cat.

FIV Myths vs. Facts

• Myth: FIV+ cats don’t live long.
Fact: Many live long, healthy lives.

• Myth: FIV spreads easily.
Fact: It is not spread through sharing food bowls, grooming, or peaceful living.

• Myth: FIV+ cats are always sick.
Fact: Most live normal, happy lives with routine care.

I’ve been through so much, and I’ve waited so long… but I still believe there’s someone out there who will see me, choose me, and love me for who I am. ❤️

Evangeline is fully vetted and ready to go.
