Ethel's Story

Meet Ethel!
She is the calmer, younger sister of this dynamic duo, following Lucy, napping in a cozy spot, watching birds out the window and so on.
Lucy and Ethel came from an extremely bad environment and we believe they had little to no human contact. BUT they came from a long line of nice house cats (which all resided together!). They haven't learned to let their guard down around humans yet, they haven't built up all the trust. They have come a long ways though!! Initially you might get a swat and definitely a hiss when feeding, now they'll chill next to you and allow you put your hand in front of them, then they smell you. We believe with the right home that these 2 will come out of their shells around people. They currently have a foster room to themselves and their foster has a camera on them- these 2 play and play and play! But the second she comes in- all quiet. Ha!
They need a home with patience and someone who will give them the freedom to become themselves- which may never be a lap kitty. A companion kitty? YES!
If you're feeling drawn to them please give us a call! We truly hope there is a home for them out there somewhere.
Contact us at 541-519-7387
Apply today at this link: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BFOB/Cat

Best Friends of Baker Inc.'s Adoption Policy
FAQ: "is Fluffy available for adoption?" Please assume that if an animal is listed as 'adoptable' on our Petfinder page we are still accepting applications for that pet. We do our best to keep the page up to date. We are not able to respond to emails asking if animals are available. "is Fluffy good with dogs/older cats/male cats/children/vacuums?" Each animal is different, and our profiles try to address these questions. If you do not find your answer in the pet's profile, please submit an application and a volunteer will be happy to speak with you about a particular animal. "what is the adoption process?" You submit an application at: | https://www.bestfriendsofbaker.org/adopt and then the applications for that animal are are reviewed. References are then checked. The chosen adopter will be contacted (usually by phone) and a meet-and-greet and or home visit is arranged to determine if the adoption will be finalized. If the person passes on the pet, we will contact the next applicant in line. "how much does it cost?" Kitten adoption fees are $125 if the kitten has been spayed, $90 if neutered, $100 if it has not yet been S/N (includes a $50 spay or neuter voucher). Adult cats are $25. Dog adoptions range from $100 to $500 depending on age, vet care, etc. All adoption donations are tax-deductible and donations above these amounts are always appreciated. Every cent received from adoption fees goes toward helping more animals in need. "what veterinary care has Fluffy received?" Kittens are wormed and given first shots. The adoption packet includes a voucher for a low-cost spay or neuter if the kitten has not yet been spayed or neutered. Older cats are generally spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Dogs are wormed, vaccinated and spayed or neutered if appropriate age. Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue pet.
