Eric's Story

Eric is a handsome medium-haired orange tabby who is just over a year old, meaning he still has all the fun, playful energy of a youngster while beginning to settle into adulthood. He was surrendered to us at the end of April after his previous owner made the difficult but compassionate decision to seek help finding him a home.

His former owner is a true animal lover who realized they had taken on more animals than they could reasonably manage. Wanting the best possible future for Eric, they entrusted him to our care so we can help him find a forever family where he will receive the time, attention and care he deserves.

Since arriving at the shelter, Eric has been a shy and reserved guy. While he hasn't fully let his guard down yet, we've seen that he responds well to patience, soft voices and gentle touch. He is quietly curious about the world around him and often watches what's going on from a safe distance before deciding whether he'd like to investigate.

Due to his longer hair, he will need an adopter willing to brush him regularly to keep it tangle-free and looking its best. This will be a great way to bond with him.

We know there is more to Eric's personality waiting to shine through once he feels safe and secure in a home of his own. The right family will understand that trust takes time and that some of the most rewarding relationships are built slowly. With patience, love and understanding, Eric has every chance to blossom into a wonderful companion. Now all Eric needs is a loving home where he can feel comfortable being himself

The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
