Emmy - In Foster's Story

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Age: 1 year
Gender: Spayed Female
Litter Box Trained: Yes
Declawed: No
Adoption Fee: $125

Am I good with:
Cats: Yes, likes them a lot!
Dogs: We can test
Children: No

About me: Emmy has been through a lot in her life and she is only a year old. She was abandoned and left to have babies, then she found herself at county. She made her way to us where she arrived quite shut down. People scared her and all she wanted to do was protect her babies. She has since been with one of our best fosters, she is learning how to be a cat without her babies and without being stuck in a cage. She has recently been spayed so she would never have to have babies again. In a calm environment, she becomes an absolute love bug. She seeks out attention and she will roll all around on the floor. She becomes a purring machine and loves to lay on your lap. She just needs time to adjust and she makes an amazing cat. Because of her past, her best home wouldn't be the one throwing big parties or have tons of kids running around at all times. But a home where she has her set people and spaces to go hide when there may be extra roudy company over. To meet her, head to our official website to fill out an application.

Emmy does have the following condition listed below, this is treated with antibiotics or sometimes steroids, this is not something that should happen often, but only should be seen during stressful times. She does have a current one that is slowly healing with proper medication management.

A "rodent ulcer" (clinically called an indolent or eosinophilic ulcer) is a well-circumscribed, red, or yellowish sore that typically appears on a cat's upper lip. Despite the name, it is not caused by rodents; rather, it is a painful manifestation of an allergic reaction or immune system malfunction known as the Feline Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex (EGC).

This cat has been at ARP since: 5/1/26

The Animal Rescue Project is committed to providing the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues, and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We aim to choose the best fit for both the approved adopter and the pet.

Please understand that these animals are still new to us, and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will do our best to update their information online as soon as possible.

All cats and kittens receive a general check-up when they enter our program. They are treated to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and mites they may have. All cats and kittens are tested for feline leukemia and are also tested for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Each cat or kitten receives the FVRCP vaccine; if a kitten remains with us long enough, two or three boosters will be given after the initial vaccination.
Most cats and older kittens are spayed or neutered before adoption. For kittens not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter upon proof of sterilization.

The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian within 10 days of adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their veterinarian to complete the plan.
