Emmy's Story
Emmy is a beautiful 6-year-old black cat with a gentle heart and a calm, quiet spirit. She originally lived with someone who loved her very much, but frequent travel and difficulty living with other pets made it hard for her to stay.

Emmy has been in foster care since June and has made wonderful progress. She started out shy, spending time under the bed and keeping to herself, but with patience and a peaceful environment, she has truly blossomed. Today, she enjoys spending time nearby, relaxing in her favorite faux-fur lounge chair, and even recently surprised her foster by settling into her lap to watch TV — a huge milestone and a sign of how much she trusts.

She is very food-motivated, enjoys her routine hairball gel, and is currently taking Zyrtec for mild, chronic skin allergies (her foster and vet will continue discussing the best long-term plan).

Emmy’s ideal home is quiet, patient, and pet-free — a place where she can continue to grow at her own pace and feel safe. She doesn’t need constant attention, but she truly appreciates gentle companionship and will reward kindness with her steady, blossoming affection.

If you're looking for a sweet, soft-spoken cat who will warm up beautifully with time and love, Emmy may be the perfect match for you.

Apply Directly at https://www.animalfriendsofct.org/adoption-application
