She was living in terrible conditions in the Bronx and was repeatedly thrown out onto the streets by her previous owner, left to fend for herself poor Emerald didn't even have a name.<br/><br/>Despite everything she went through, Emerald remained gentle and loving. While struggling to survive outdoors, she became pregnant and eventually gave birth to 4 beautiful babies. When rescuers rescued Emerald she was found to be FIV positive, something that does not define her or diminish the love and happiness she can bring to a family.<br/><br/>What Emerald right now needs is to feel safe in a home where the environment is calm and she can decompress as she adjusts to indoor life.<br/><br/>After everything she has endured, she deserves so much more than a life of fear, hunger, and uncertainty.
