Elliot's Story
Elliot, sweet Elliot. Soft-bellied soother of souls. Beautiful bemuse-ed bellicose behemoth. So-trust...ing. So-love...ing. So-orange...ed.

Elliot is a soft-spoken token orange boy who just brings joy to the people around him. The chaos inherit with that orange gene has likely passed on due to his age, but the endearing derpiness remains. Why yes, Elliot, we do know that you love to zen-out by staring out the window. That's why we left one of the shades open in your room at the adoption center...so why are you standing in front of the closed shade only a foot to the left?

Elliot was surrendered back to PAWS after being adopted from our Northeast location around 8 years ago due to some changes in that home. He can be nervous around new people and places, but that quickly softens up with a good routine and offerings of food. He's also still pretty active and enjoys playing with you via wand toys while also keeping himself entertained with a variety of different toys. And while Elliot can be a little independent, he still loves being around people, so he's that perfect balance of giving you space while also demanding attention.

Elliot could also stand to lose a few pounds so it isn't too hard to stand on his soon-to-be old man bones. He also has a mid-grade heart murmur, which just needs to monitored with your vet and would be another good reason to get his weight down a little. He should also have his litter box habits monitored, but has been fine here since coming back to PAWS (he did have some increasing incidents at home before his surrender, but here with a larger box he hasn't had any accidents).

------------------------------------

This cat is currently located at PAWS Old City Adoption Center located at 100 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. This location prioritizes appointments made by already approved applicants, but we can also accommodate browsers and walk-ins if and as our capacity allows. To ensure your best experience and best chance at meeting your new furry family member, we recommend completing the application ahead of your visit, which you can find at phillypaws.org/catapp.

If you have any questions, feel free to email adoptions@phillypaws.org or call 215-238-9901 ext.30.

------------------------------------

FOSTER PARENTS:

Elliot is a pefect gentleman who has just sat at the shelter longer than we really expected for him, so we'd just love a change of scenery. He was surrendered for having accidents with the litter box, but hasn't shown that habit here since getting into a larger room (he missed a few times in the small cages with smaller boxes). He would likely just need to be the only pet in the home, but has lived around other cats successfully in the past so maybe he'd be alright if you have older and more independent kitties (or just have a nice sunlit room he can call his own).
