Ellie's Story

Meet Ellie

Ellie is 9 years old and narrowly escaped euthanasia simply for being overweight. Since arriving with us, she’s shown everyone what a sweet, easygoing and loving girl she truly is.

This beautiful tortie is the definition of a good roommate. Quiet, calm and low drama, Ellie is happiest spending her days enjoying long naps, playing with toys, rolling around in catnip and hanging out with her feline friends. She does amazing with other cats and settles into routines really well.

One of our favourite things about Ellie is how she greets you at the door like she’s been waiting all day to see you… only to immediately loaf nearby and supervise your activities. She’s affectionate without being over the top and has the perfect balance of loving and independent.

Like many torties, Ellie does have a little sass in her soul. She enjoys brushing… until she doesn’t, and she’s very good at politely letting you know when she’s had enough or when you’re bugging her too much. Honestly, it just adds to her charm.

Ellie has already made wonderful progress on her weight loss journey and is continuing to lose weight safely and steadily. Her future family will need to stay committed to her healthy lifestyle plan and portion-controlled feeding. Free feeding is definitely not recommended because Miss Ellie absolutely believes every buffet was created specifically for her.

She’s looking for a loving home that will continue cheering her on while helping her become the healthiest version of herself.

Ellie’s adoption fee has also been generously sponsored by a donor in hopes of helping this wonderful girl find the forever home she deserves.
