Eileen Cerebral Hypoplasia’s FAQs

What is Compassion in Action, Inc.’s adoption process?

We require an adoption application, an adoption contract, and usually a home visit. Fees are generally $75-$125 for cats and $200 for dogs. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, spaying or neutering, worming, flea/tick treatment, microchip, and any care deemed necessary by a veterinarian. We do allow out-of-area and out-of-state adoptions if we're able to verify references and/or arrange for a local rescue to conduct a home visit. We may be able to arrange for transportation between PA and NC. All animals live in foster homes, so an appointment is required to meet a pet. By living with a pet in a home-like environment, we're better able to ascertain each animal's temperament, facilitate training, and identify any health or behavior problems a pet may have.
