EARL's Story

MEET EARL! Well, hello! My name is Earl and I am looking for a warm and cozy space to occupy in your home! I am just a 4-year-old aspiring couch potato in need of a soft place to land - preferably, in your lap. I might be a little on the bigger side, but I am a gentle and calm boy. To the surprise of my shelter staff and volunteer friends here at the shelter, I actually lived outside for most of my life! They can only assume I was not very good at outdoor life, because I have some battle scars from where I didn't do so well at defending myself... I have left that street life in the past and traded it for soft blankets, plush beds, and the occasional game of catch the toy mouse! Likely due to my previous rough life in the wild outdoors, I am FIV positive. The good news is I am still young and healthy and FIV is really no big deal at all! As long as I continue to live inside only (which is really all I want) I will be just fine! I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, current on prevention, and microchipped. If a laid back and low-key sweet chunk is what your heart desires, please give me a chance! Complete an online application and get pre-approved to adopt at https://cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/PetAdoptionSurvey. Once you complete the app, a staff member will call you in 1-2 business days once approved to set up a time for you to meet the pet you are interested in. Every adoptable pet is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1-year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention for dogs. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. Adoptions are matched based on best placement and require no negative animal history.
