E-Girls, Estella and Eleanor's Story
Estella and Eleanor came to us at separate times as newborns - mere days old - who required bottle feeding for their first 4-6 weeks. They are named after famous orphans in literature, given that they were the only surviving kitten from their litters. These sisters-from-another-mother share a similar colouring, as they are both gray with peach highlights. But Estella is a short-hair dilute torbie, while Eleanor is a long-hair dilute tortie. They're both adorably feisty and loving, in equal measure. And like most bottle babies, they were smaller than most kittens their age for a long time, but they are now growing like little weeds.

Estella is going on six months old, with a birth date of March 11th. She gave us quite the fright in the early days, as it was clear she was aspirating her formula, which required her to be put on antibiotics and tube fed for a number of days. Even then, we had to feed her with a syringe rather than a bottle, to better control the flow of formula to prevent her from drowning in it. Our amazing volunteer was successful in pulling her through, and she has turned into this adorable little strip of a thing who is personality plus. We think she was a sewer rat in a former life, as she has a fascination with litterboxes and toilets. She loves to rampage around in the newly cleaned litter and dabble her toes into the freshly flushed toilet. Too cute! She was quite clingy in her early days but has become the little independent lady in the recent past. There's no holding her down.

Eleanor turned four months old on September 1st. She was an "easy baby" throughout her bottle feeding days, and has met her milestones with nary a hiccup. For all that she never had a mama cat, she loves to nurse on fleecy fabrics, kneading rhythmically in a meditative state. She's such a sooky sweetheart. If that's all she asks, that's fine with us. We are very indulgent of these small creatures and their need for comfort given their perilous start in life.

We are dearly hoping to adopt Estella and Eleanor together. They have found a sister-friend in eachother and to separate them now feels like orphaning them anew.

Both kittens have been spayed, vaccinated twice, tested (negative) for disease, microchipped, and treated for parasites. We typically ask for a donation of $275 for each kitten, but together, we would ask for $500. We offer a charitable tax receipt for the donated amount.

If you're interested, please complete our adoption application in full.
