Dynamo's Story

Dynamo is a domestic short haired, grey tuxedo, neutered male kitten with an estimated date of birth of the last week of May 2025. Dynamo and his presumed brother or half brother Houdini (similar in coat coloring and pattern but Dynamo is much larger and heavier than Houdini) were rescued from a household where they were placed at too young an age of around 4 weeks old to be separated from their mother. Dynamo was named after British magician Steven Frayne's stage name, and also is a play on his spitfire personality as Dynamo's nick name is "Ammo" as he can be rapid fire in his play.

Dynamo and Houdini were reportedly being fed soy milk, and this is a totally inappropriate food for young kittens weaned from their mother way too early. In addition, Dynamo and Houdini had a huge roundworm burden that inhibited their weight gain once placed on age and nutritionally appropriate kitten food. After numerous de-wormings and patient, kind handling, Dynamo has become a more confident and friendly young kitty. Dynamo has shown a strong fear response to children, and it is suspected that young, not properly supervised children traumatized Dynamo with their handling of him. Therefore, a home with no children and a home where no children come to visit is a requirement.

Neutered; current on vaccinations including rabies; negative for both feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus; de-wormed; litter box trained; and microchipped. Dynamo gets along with other cats. Unknown with dogs. Absolutely not good with children.

Far North Feline Rescue's Adoption Policy
Initial contact is usually made via email. Potential adopters are asked to provide basic information such as if they rent or own their residence; have any other pets in the household; have any children in the household; and if they are an established client with a veterinary clinic. Answers to these questions help us determine the best fit for them among the cats available for adoption. Then a meet and greet is set up for that cat in the foster home where more questions can be asked, and the adopter and cat interaction can be observed. Our adoption process is NOT that the first one to contact us is the one who gets to adopt the kitten/cat, and that can be difficult for certain potential adopters to accept. Our goal is to put the kitten or cat in the right home the first time. We allow for a 2 week trial period and the cat or kitten can then be returned to us without judgment and the adoption fee refunded.
