Dutchess's Story

6yearold Dutchess came to us absolutely terrified, the kind of scared that makes you want to sit on the floor and whisper, “It's okay, take your time.” And that's exactly what she needed. With some quiet space and patience, Dutchess is slowly unfolding and we are seeing the loving girl she truly is.

She's still shy, but oh does she love her pets. She'll even tiptoe over if she thinks you're about to give her some gentle affection. Soft voices, slow movements, and a calm environment help her shine brightest.

Dutchess is the kind of cat who bonds deeply once she feels safe. If you're looking for a tender, grateful companion who will love you with her whole heart, she's your girl.

Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out, unless deemed medically necessary. We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws.

We're open from 12-4 PM Tuesday - Saturday. Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days. Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day!

***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.

Follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission
