Is this seat on your shoulder taken? Don’t mind if I do! My name is Durchie and I love to play pirate, but only if I can be the parrot! I will climb onto your back and purr in your ear. I was found as a stray, but I can say with confidence I prefer human company.<br/><br/>I have a very large vocabulary, so you won’t have to guess how I feel. I will vocalize my excitement and affection or let you know if I need some space. <br/><br/>You may notice my unique (disheveled) appearance. I don’t really fit the “clean girl aesthetic”! I am a messy eater and I have trouble grooming so I might need your help washing up. I bet you'll never guess the reason for this though...give up? <br/>IT'S BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A TONGUE!! No I am not kidding and yes it is crazy! No one knows why I have no tongue but it's no matter-I eat and drink and I'm as happy as can be!! <br/><br/>I would prefer to be your one and only, so I don’t want to live with other pets. Monmouth County SPCA's Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are welcome to visit our public adoption floor. If they see a pet they are interested in, they fill out a survey on-site and then meet with an adoption counselor. The adoption counselor goes over the pet's information and if deemed an appropriate match, the adopter meets the pet. If all goes well, the pet can be taken home same day if medically cleared.
