Drexel's Story

Name: Drexel
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Sex: Spayed Female
Age: 4.5 years
Weight: 7.5 lbs
Animal Number: 4561

Shy, Affectionate, Gentle

Good with dogs? Not Tested

Good with cats? Drexel has lived her whole life with other cats. She does well with slow introductions, gets along with her sister Rigby but is not bonded to her, and may do OK as a coexister or only cat.

Good with kids? Not Tested

Energy level: Medium. She has shown some interest in wands, but has not really played with toys while in foster care since shes been shy. She paces and moves around a lot and is mainly still when perched in a window.

Animal Characteristics: Drexel is a shy, affectionate, gentle cat. She loves being petted and brushed and is working up to receiving more attention, like enjoying lap time. She has a thick, beautiful, super furry coat and really benefits from brushing! She likes to walk back and forth as she is being brushed, beautified and pampered. She has an adorable bend in the tip of her tail. Shes shy about meeting new people at first, and responds well to repeated, brief introductions with patient people over multiple days as she builds trust. Consistency and routine give her comfort. Drexel appreciates cozy hiding places, but will also meow for attention and is glad when her trusted human seeks her out to offer comfort and love. She and her sister were born in a junkyard, had access to indoor human attention, but lived their early lives without a typical home environment. Drexel will need some time to settle into her forever home and will appreciate a calm, peaceful environment with a patient adopter so that she can blossom!

Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. You can also contact my friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. I look forward to meeting you!
