Dora - sassy & loving

Dora is an absolutely gorgeous calico girl with very unique markings. She is 8 years old and weighs 8.5 lbs right now. Dora was adopted and returned twice when she was one year old, before getting adopted to a home with a very kind older man. She lived there for 6 years. Dora always peed in the litter box, but she would poop on the floor several times a day. One night she peed and pooped on her owner while he was sleeping, and he decided that was the last straw. He surrendered her back to Freedom Farm, hoping that we could help her.<br/><br/>Dora spent a couple weeks in an isolation cage, getting used to a new home. She was very scared and hissy at first. However, she was a champ for her vet appointment, where she got updated vaccines, an exam, fecal and full senior panel. She came back slightly positive for coccidia, so she was treated for that, as well as an ear infection. Dora's bloodwork was all within normal limits. She was morbidly obese originally, but eating poorly while adjust to a new home brought her weight down to 8.5 lbs. <br/><br/>After completing her medications, Dora was allowed out of her cage. For the first couple of days, Dora mostly kept to herself but was quick to remind the foster dogs in the home that she was not to be messed with. Dora is now very comfortable with other cats and calm dogs. She will need a quiet home and will probably hide for the first few days until she trusts you. Dora surprised everyone by hopping up in a family member's lap and trying to steal her pizza. Dora is a lap cat when she is with someone that she trusts. Dora has not pooped outside the litter box at all since she has been loose in her foster home. We think that maybe Dora just needs a kitty friend because she does not handle being alone well on her own. She will also need a quiet home and a patient adopter. Her adoption fee is $100.
