Domingo's Story
Meet Domingo!

Domingo is a 6-year-old tuxedo who was rescued after being left behind and abandoned in an apartment with other animals, where he had to fend for himself for quite some time. Because of that, he can be cautious and sensitive to sudden noises or changes in his environment.

He may be shy at first and need a little time to settle in, but once he warms up, Domingo truly blossoms. He has the cutest little meows and becomes such an affectionate boy who just wants pets and love from his humans. When he feels safe, he'll give gentle head bumps, stay close by your side, and soak up all the attention. He also has a playful side that comes out with toys once he's comfortable.

Domingo can be selective with other cats and would do best with a calm, respectful feline and very slow introductions. He does especially well with Penny. While they aren't bonded and don't rely on each other, they share a familiar history and coexist beautifully. They don't cuddle, but they're comfortable together and bring each other a quiet sense of stability. He can absolutely be adopted on his own, or alongside Penny for someone who appreciates their easy, companionable dynamic.

Domingo has been through so much, but he's learning that safety, love, and gentle hands are here to stay. He would thrive in a calm, patient home ready to give him the affection he so sweetly craves!

Domingo is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. His adoption fee is $125. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, up to date on flea and tick preventative, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. All adults are combo tested; for some litters of kittens who have not been exposed to other cats, only one kitten in the litter may be tested. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and helps us continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the pet you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
