Dobby's Story

Dobby is an absolutely wonderful senior boy, about 7-9 years old. He is so playful, loving, energetic, and full of life. All he wants is a human to love and a comfy pile of blankets to snooze on. He spends his days playing with toy mice, snoozing in cozy spots, and cuddling with his foster mom (even if she's trying to work). He is a lap cat that loves couch time, and also comes to bed every night to sleep snuggled up. He even got to represent Heavenly Paws at a York College Club event and met dozens of students (and accepted all the treats they offered haha!).

Dobby does have Stage 2 Kidney failure, and while this will be a lifelong progressive condition, his levels and weight have remained stable while in foster, and the vet feels like he would do best in a forever home where he can be loved and cared for for the rest of his life. While the kidney disease will be progressive, he has an estimated 5-10 years remaining lifespan. He will need to remain on his prescription kidney food diet and have access to lots of fresh water (a wonderful supporter donated a water fountain that will go to his forever home with him! He will also have a large supply of kidney food to go home with). He also has a medicine he takes on occasion for nausea, but is none the wiser to it when mixed with his favorite churu treat.

While he has a medical condition that requires a bit of extra care, he is genuinely one of the most loving and perfect kitties out there! He has a ton of energy and love for life, and always wants to cuddle or play. He enjoys sitting on his foster mom's lap while she works, and snuggling with her for naps on the couch. When he's feeling playful, he loves to play with toys or zoom back and forth across the house chasing one of his foster mom's other kitties. He gets along with all other kitties he has met and has had no reaction to meeting dogs face to face! But he does need a home where he can have access to his kidney food and not other food.

If you are looking for an absolutely amazing companion that is truly a joy, please consider putting in an application for this wonderfully sweet boy.

Please visit our website www.heavenlypawsshelter.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available cats and kittens.
