Devon's Story

This is a courtesy post for a community member trying to rehome this wonderful kitty.

"Hi. I'm Devon. I'm a short-haired black 8 month-old kitty. I was a little shy at first at my new home, but it did not take me long to come out of my shell. I am affectionate, cuddly, and friendly - I never bite, scratch or kick. I have tons of personality, am curious, athletic and very playful. And I really like my big doggie sister (an Aussie).

Like so many of my fellow kitties who need a forever home, life started out rough, but then I was rescued and in early December I went to what I hoped would be my forever home. My new mom is not able to keep me, so I am looking for my true furever home.

I love and appreciate my foster mom, my doggie sister (an Australian Shepherd), and especially my new environment – I am thriving here.
I just love cuddling up on my mom’s lap and purring the time away. I also love to play-–running through the house chasing my toy mouse, playing with my wand toy, climbing up in my big new cat perch, and watching birds and squirrels on the big TV.

I have something else to share. I was not feeling super well, and my foster mom took me to the vet. Turns out I had a lower urinary tract issue (not uncommon in cats, especially us boys). I need to be on a 100% wet food diet, and the vet said it needs to be a prescription formula (or equivalent) to lessen or eliminate crystals from forming. I also need someone who can pay attention to me given this. My foster mom can answer questions, and may be able to assist, especially with food.

I am competing with so many deserving kitties who want and need a forever home just like me. I realize what I just shared may deter you. But would you do this for me…. do you know somone who has in the past, or might consider now, a kitty with my special need? I truly am an amazing kitty, and promise I will not disappoint. "

Devon is neutered, up to date on vaccines and dewormed. His cat tree, toys, and some other accessories would be provided. His rehoming fee is $150.

If you are interested in more information or to arrange a meet and greet, please call or text Liz at 707 496-9623 or email elizabethfinger1@gmail.com.
Please share.

If interested, we have potential adopters meet the animal in person and fill out our adoption application. After reviewing the application, which are processed in the order they are received, as long as everything checks out and is good to go we will reach out to the applicant to either set up an adoption appointment (if the animal of interest is altered and ready to go), ask some clarifying questions if part of the application was unclear, or let you know that the animal is already spoken for. We require that ALL family members meet the animal prior to adoption. Once the kitty or puppy, cat or dog is ready to go- we do an in person adoption where we go over pet care, the history of your new family member, microchip the animal, and help fill out the registration information.
