Delta's Story

Delta was trapped at a gas station in Woodland Park, NJ after spending the better part of this nasty past winter outside. He was dirty, eating chicken wings and other junk food and so fat we thought he was a pregnant female.

Delta was so obviously a house cat. He has come out of his shell in such a short amount of time but still has a way to go. He is so super sweet. He follows his foster mom around all day. He lays by her feet as she works from home. She is working on getting him to climb into her lap but we can guarantee you he is going to be a velcro, lap cat.

You can pick Delta up. He LOVES to be brushed. We are working on touching his paws more. Delta has never scratched or bitten his foster mom. He purrs up a storm when he gets attention. He loves love.

Delta does have separate anxiety. Afterall, he wound up outside somehow and who knows how long he was out there. He is very vocal and very chatty. But he is very well behaved. He doesn't jump up on anything - not even furniture (we're working on that). He doesn't scratch furniture. He doesn't steal food. He uses the litterbox with no problem.

Delta's current foster siblings do not appreciate another male in the house so we don't know for sure if he gets along with other cats. We think he will do well with a super friendly cat-friendly cat or as an only cat. He will need a good solid introductory period, though, thanks to his foster siblings being so nasty to him. He is used to being on the defense right now.

Delta is 3-5 years old, neutered, vaccinated and FeLV/FIV negative. He loves toys and is super picky about his food. He won't eat dry and is on Fancy Feast wet.

Delta is up for adoption but we would be happy to consider a foster to adopt situation for the right person. Apply at gratefulpawsnj.com/adopt
