Darwin's Story

It's a bummer about black cats. The fact that no one ever looks at them. Darwin is a beauty. He was found abandoned on a parking lot with his litter. We took him and his sister Izzy because she needed medical attention. Since then, Darwin and Izzy have been socialized with dogs, cats and people.

Darwin is a little shy. He likes to initiate snuggles and petting. He takes a while to warm up and would thrive where he could have that opportunity. He seeks out a ledge or shelf and is content to watch from a distance. He likes to supervise and will sleep on the bed next to his person but isn't always in your lap.

Darwin has medium length hair and does need some brushing. He is simply gorgeous and his eyes are bright green. He is a no drama cat and will simply slip under something if there is too much going on.

His sister Izzy is vocal and insistent on attention. While she was likely the runt of the litter, she makes up for it by having a very large personality.

The two must be adopted together as they get along and have never been apart. They will take some time to adjust to their new home. They live in our house with an older cat and have cat-friendly dogs in their large, sunny room. They have no fear of our dogs because they have only known friendly dogs.

If you are interested in adopting Darwin and Izzy: Other pets in the home must be current on vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick preventative and altered. Applicants will be screened, including a home visit.

If you would like to meet Darwin and Izzy, complete an application on our website dogwoodfarmsanctuary.com and then request an appointment. Thanks for your interest in Darwin. We will continue to take applications until we find the right match.
