Cricket's Story
Meet Cricket - a gentle, quiet soul looking for a patient and understanding home.

Cricket is a shy and timid adult cat who prefers a calm environment where she can feel safe at her own pace. She's still learning to trust people and may be a bit fearful at first, but with time, consistency, and kindness, she can begin to open up. She tolerates gentle pets and shows curiosity in small moments, especially when given space and reassurance.

Cricket would do best in an adult-only home with someone experienced or willing to go slow and let her set the pace. Offering treats, soft voices, and a predictable routine will help her build confidence and feel more secure.

If you have a quiet home and a big heart for a cat who just needs a little extra time, Cricket could be the perfect companion to grow alongside you.

A volunteer writes: Cricket's gently curious about new things and will allow small pets with the teeny tiny caveat that everything goes at her pace. This is more than ok but not always the most conducive to making new friends at a busy shelter. Cricket was brought to us from a home with many other cats back in April and making sense of all the changes and new people she's facing has been very much a work in progress. For someone who may not have a lot of experience with new people, the daily hustle and bustle of Adoptions often leads Cricket to snuggle up in the back of her cubby. With her tail determinedly wrapped and her paws tightly tucked, Cricket finishes the look by putting her ears all the way back so that her perfect kitty head looks round. This isn't so much fashion as it is an attempt to understand just exactly what she needs to be doing to skip this middle part and get into a forever home. The glimpses of promises Cricket continues to show also demonstrate that she's just getting ready to shine.
