Crescendo's Story

If you are looking for a lap cat look no further! Meet Crescendo, a nine year old tuxedo queen who loves to snuggle. This confident girl will make herself at home quickly, loves new people, and is convicned that everyone wants her to be on their lap. She uses her litter box like a champ and has had zero issues at her foster home. When Crescendo is not sitting on your lap she can be found playing with her laser toy, sitting on window sills, or sleeping in a cozy spot. This healthy girl is a LARGE cat (16 pounds!) but is on a weight loss journey and is doing great and down a whole pound! She had a dental recently and is all set to settle into a new home. Crescendo is an excellent companion and would love to be around people (even kids!) her only non-negotiable is that she needs to be the only pet in the house. All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with age-appropriate vaccinations. Senior cats have an adoption fee of $100. Alternative Humane Society of Whatcom County's Adoption Policy

AHS does not do same-day adoptions. We provide a form called a “Statement of Interest” for potential adopters to fill out. When completed, this form is reviewed by an AHS volunteer (the animal’s Case Manager) who will contact any potential adopter with any additional questions and arrange a meeting if it looks like a good match. The potential adopter usually hears back from a volunteer within 1-2 weeks. The case manager will only be contacting SOI that our might be a good fit and will arrange a meet and greet. Adoption fees for DOGS are: Puppies (up to age 18 months): $425 (plus $200spay/neuter deposit for puppies that are not spayed or neutered at time of adoption)Cash only Adults (18 months - 8 years old): $350 Seniors (8 years and up): $225 Adoption fees for CATS are: Kittens (up to 6 months): $200 Young Adult cats (7 months -3 years) $175 Adult cats (4-7 years): $150 Senior Cats (8+ years) $100 Adoption fees include: Basic shots, spay/neuter, and microchip on dogs and cats (except puppies under 6 months of age). All cats are FIV/FELV tested.
