Cow's Story

Cow is a very shy, very gentle boy. His size (we'll get back to that) makes him seem intimidating when he reacts in fear, but he has NEVER once even hissed at a person. His fear reactions are to spin his head quickly, to keep your hands in sight, and to run away.

He is slow to trust humans, so you'll need lots of patience and squeeze treats to show him you're worthy of his faith. With love and patience, Cow adores being petted and brushed. His purr is like an engine revving up and is so surprising when it starts because, until it does, he moves like a silent shadow. He discovered toys late in life and he will wear you out, if you let him, especially chasing a red dot or wrestling a fishing-pole toy into submission.

He has never been an only cat, but he also has no attachment to any cat around him. He'd do well in a home with others but is just as likely to do great as a single cat, as long as he has a human who will give him the attention and interaction he craves.
....
The FIRST thing to know about Cow's size is that he is huge. His trust issue has made getting his measurements a challenge, but we work that every day. The second thing to know - definitely the wildest thing - is that after reaching the age of 1 year, not only did his body keep growing, but so did his hair!

We believe that his seated height is 17-18 inches (an average cat is 9-12 inches, seated). Since February 2025, Cow has convinced us that he's hiding something in his paternity, because we know his mom and she's a DSH. That something that's hiding in his DNA is a mystery we may never solve. He doesn't seem to have an undercoat, which rules out Maine Coon. The remaining large breeds, with no undercoat, are mostly rare, with the most common being a Ragdoll.

If we figure that out, we'll update you. If you adopt him before we figure it out, YOU can figure it out and update us!

To apply to adopt Cow - https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CDLY-A-10?nid=202717587&_csrfToken=
