Courtney's Story

Courtney is a 1-2 year old female cat. She was found as a stray/outdoor cat in January 2026 and is still getting used to living in a home. She had her three wonderful babies (Klecks, Rori, and Inkblot) on March 18, 2026 and is a FANTASTIC and loving Mama.

Due to her background Courtney is a shy and cautious girl. She will need patience, time, and space to grow into her new surroundings and get fully settled. She has been with the same foster since mid-February and makes progress every day! When she first arrived, she hid in the corner (facing the wall) and would barely acknowledge her foster mom's presence. Within a few days Courtney (loving called Mama C or Mamacita) started to come out of hiding.

In the months with her foster she has grown her confidence and generally co-exists well with her human and canine fosters. Mama C LOVES pets and scritches but she will only accept them if you are on her level-literally-on the floor with her after careful and slow introductions. Once she understands you are there to pet and love on her she melts and enthusiastically encourages more pets. She also adores being brushed and will purr loudly with appreciation. Scroll through the photos above to see videos of her happily interacting with her foster mom.

She is doing much better with new people and visitors and will watch them from one of her safe spots. Just this week (June 9) after a few visits from a neighbor she accepted some pets and praise!! Courtney will need a patient adopter that will give her time to continue learning about life in a home. Currently, loud noises, fast movements, and other normal household noises and actions can spook her.

She tends to spend time under furniture so it is recommended that she have a designated space where she is accessible to humans but has a spot or two to feel comfortable when she needs space. She likes being in the room with her foster mom while she works and will occasionally cautiously approach and give a few inquiring sniffs. Additionally, she loves the cat condo/getting up to look out the window and will occasionally be brave enough to do so with her foster mom in the room.

Courtney has the potential to blossom into a loving and affectionate girl with time and patience! Please reach out with questions about Courtney, her foster Mom would LOVE to speak about her and what she needs from a loving family!!
