Corncob's Story

Corncob is a petite 1-year-old lady who, despite her bold agricultural name, is actually just a shy little kernel trying her best đŸŒ½

With humans, Corncob believes in a very reasonable system: you earn her trust slowly... and preferably with squeeze treats. She's still building her confidence, so she may start off a bit reserved, but with patience, consistency, and a solid treat budget, you'll watch her gradually come out of her husk.

Other cats, however? Corncob is living her best cornfield fantasy. She is OBSESSED. Her personality? Activated. Confidence? Boosted. Social life? Thriving. If there are other cats around, Corn is suddenly the happiest little cob in town. Because of this, she absolutely needs a home with at least one friendly feline friend to help her feel safe and continue to blossom.

Dogs are a bit of a mystery crop, but with slow introductions, she may do just fine. She'd do best in a calmer home with kids 7+ who understand that Corncob is more "gentle harvest" than "grab-and-go produce."

Corncob might not be an instant cuddle bug, but if you give her time, you'll get to experience the very special moment when she decides you're one of her people. And trust us, being chosen by Corncob? That's premium, farm-to-table love đŸŒ½đŸ’›

___________________________

Please complete an adoption application if you are interested in adopting from Ten Lives! Due to limited volunteer power, applications submitted for cats or kittens no longer available will not be reviewed.

About Ten Lives:

Ten Lives Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization located in Rhode Island. Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered. We do not have a facility or shelter with regular visiting hours. Out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a meet and greet with a foster cat.

Our goal is to place cats in their best-matched homes and facilitate lifelong adoptions. We do not review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. We believe that veterinary care is an important part of cat guardianship. As such, a veterinary check is part of our adoption process. Our goal is to contact applicants within 96 business hours of receiving their application. During kitten season, wait times may be longer due to the influx of applications. We are all volunteers and kindly ask for your patience!

All Ten Lives cats are spayed or neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
