Colby (Polly Pocket)'s Story

Colby's story started with heartbreak... and turned into something pretty extraordinary. Last May, we got a call from Lodi Animal Services about two tiny kittens with severe eye infections. We said yes—and Colby was one of them. To relieve her pain and save her life, Colby underwent a bilateral enucleation (removal of both eyes). She lost her vision... but not her spirit. Not even close. In fact, she thrived—and was adopted! But in December, Colby's journey took another turn when she was diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). She was lovingly returned to us so we could give her the specialized care she needed, and she began a long road to recovery. FIP treatment is no small feat—84 days of meds, followed by 84 days of observation. But Colby had a few bumps along the way, including developing a mild neurological “wobble.” Because of that, her treatment extended to over 200 days so we could monitor her closely and give her every possible chance. And today... we have the BEST news. With guidance from the neurology team at UC Davis, our veterinarians, and FIP specialists... Colby is officially CURED and ready for her next chapter: a loving home. Now, let's talk about who Colby is: She may be blind and a little wobbly—but you'd never know it by the way she lives her life. She's confident, playful, and full of charm. Her unique walk and quirky movements just make her even more endearing. She loves cozy catnaps, exploring her space, and soaking up affection. Colby doesn't need perfect—she just needs her person. Someone who will embrace her exactly as she is: resilient, joyful, and completely unforgettable. - Blind - Mild neurological wobble (stable) - 100% cured of FIP - 1,000% lovable If you've ever thought about opening your heart to a special cat, Colby is ready to show you just how incredible that can be.
