Colbert's Story

Colbert is a calm and affectionate 1-year-old orange tabby boy who loves spending time with his people. Easygoing, well-behaved, and friendly, he enjoys human companionship but is also undemanding. Sometimes he likes curling up next to his foster mom to snooze, and other times he’s happy relaxing on his own. Although he may take a minute to get to know new people, he is basically a confident, self-assured guy with a gentle personality and a loving heart. Once he feels comfortable, he’ll happily become your loyal companion and new best friend.

Here is his history: Colbert showed up at a cat colony this spring and immediately caught the caretakers’ attention with his friendly nature, not like a feral cat at all. He came up to the feeders, rubbing against their legs and asking for pets. At first he came around once or twice a week, but once he figured out there was food appearing at the colony every day, he became a regular. Smart boy! We did not need to trap him, we just picked him up, put him in a carrier, and brought him to his new foster home. We believe he was an abandoned pet who was used to living in a home and wanted to find that again.

He got along well with other cats in the colony, so he might do well in a home with another cat, but he also would be fine as a “only cat” so that he doesn’t have to share your love with other felines. He has not been dog tested.

Colbert has a crumpled ear, just like his namesake. This would have been caused by a previous earmite infection, but the mites were gone when he came to us.

Colbert is a healthy boy and has been fully vetted, including rabies and distemper vaccines, neuter operation, negative test for FIV & Feline Leukemia, and microchip.

Colbert is such a loving guy who is ready to find his new forever home - could that home be with you?
