Colander's Story

Meet Colander, a strikingly handsome young cat named for the circular ring pattern on his fur. As if that weren’t enough, he also sports dramatic side “eyeliner”— very Euphoria-coded.

Colander can be a bit shy when first meeting new friends, but his gentle curiosity always wins out. With a little patience—and a few churros or his beloved spiral bounce toys—he blossoms into a playful and silly guy. He’s been in his foster home since he was just 3 months old, growing up alongside his littermates and a cat-friendly dog, so he understands the rhythms of a multi-pet household. He’d thrive with friendly cats, do well with calm dogs, or be perfectly content as a cherished solo kitty.

At a year old, Colander is an active, energetic adolescent who fills his days playing fetch, wrestling his toys, taunting his pit bull roommate and thoughtfully gazing out the window. He’s the definition of “sour then sweet”—initially observant and reserved (i.e. judging you), then suddenly flopping over to show off his belly and invite play. For an adopter who appreciates a slow-burn friendship and a cat with personality, Colander is an absolute gem waiting to shine.

DOB: 03/31/2025

Ready to make Colander part of your family forever? Fishtails Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Fishtails Animal Rescue strives to provide you with a healthy pet. However, the stress of changing environments can lower an animal’s immunity to fight disease and the pet could harbor an infection without displaying symptoms. We cannot guarantee the health of any animal. Any pet adopted out by Fishtails Animal Rescue will be up-to-date on vaccines (unless medically contraindicated), microchipped, spayed/neutered (if age appropriate*), and given a dose of flea/heartworm preventative. The microchip must be registered by the adopter to their new information. *If the animal is not spayed/neutered at time of adoption, the adopter will do so within 2 months after the animal reaches 6 months of age. In addition, if pet is under 16 weeks at the time of adoption, adopter is responsible for boosters for vaccines. Fishtails Animal Rescues is located in Philadelphia, PA and accepts applications within the tri-state area. The first step in our adoption process is to complete the adoption application found on our website. Applications are reviewed within 72 hours of submissions. Please contact the rescue directly at info@farsaves.com with any questions.
