Coconut's Story

Meet Coconut — a goofy little patched tabby girl with gorgeous orange patches splashed mostly along her sides, and a serious talent for snuggling, wrestling, and emotionally supporting you during TikTok scrolling sessions.

Coconut came into foster care with her four siblings as tiny bottle babies and was bottle-fed around the clock until she was successfully weaned. Since then, she has perfected the art of being equal parts chaos and cuddle bug.

This silly girl loves to wrestle with her siblings, chase toys around the house, and then disappear completely — usually because she has buried herself deep inside a throw blanket somewhere like a tiny fuzzy burrito. Coconut is obsessed with cat springs, catnip mice, and catnip in general. Meal time is easily the highlight of her entire day, and if dinner is approaching, she will absolutely make sure everyone in the house knows about it.

In the mornings, expect to wake up to intense laser-eye stares because Coconut believes breakfast should be served immediately upon opening your eyes. Personal space is also not really her thing. When she wants attention, she’ll simply walk over, sit directly on or beside you, and stare into your soul until snuggles are provided.

At night, Coconut turns into the ultimate cuddle companion. She loves sleeping under the blankets with her humans and is fully invested in bedtime TikTok routines. She’ll happily curl up next to your head on your pillow and watch videos with you while you scroll.

Coconut is being raised in a busy foster home and is extremely well socialized. She lives with a 120 lb Great Pyrenees, a 70 lb Lab, a 70 lb Golden/Pyrenees mix, and cats ranging from tiny bottle babies to seniors. She has also done wonderfully with children ages 3 and older.

Coconut is sweet, playful, dramatic about food, and full of personality — the perfect little sidekick for someone looking for a kitten that brings both nonstop entertainment and nonstop cuddles.

Coconut is scheduled to be spayed May 29th, but we are now accepting early applications!

Coconut is located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast but can be transported to the northeast. Her adoption fee is $300.

When Coconut's Adoption Application is received, you will be contacted about transport details.

If interested in meeting Coconut, please submit an application here: https://fjcasp.wufoo.com/forms/adoption-application

Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets's Adoption Policy
At FJCASP, we dedicate a great deal of love, time, and resources to caring for our animals, and our top priority is to see them go to permanent, loving homes with people who have the knowledge and means to provide proper care. Adoption Fee: $100–$150 Vet References Required We require that all potential adopters provide veterinary references. This allows us to confirm that any current or past pets have been kept up to date on vaccinations, preventatives, and are spayed/neutered. Most veterinary offices are familiar with this request. Our goal is to ensure that our animals are placed in homes where they will remain safe, healthy, and properly cared for. Long-Term Commitment Adopting a pet is a serious, long-term commitment. We want all potential adopters to understand their responsibilities and be prepared to care for an animal for its lifetime. Home Requirements To provide a safe environment, we require that adopters provide: - Proper shelter for the animal - Understanding of how to introduce a new pet to children and existing animals -Commitment to keeping the animal as an indoor pet Adoption Approval All adoptions must be finalized and approved by the FJCASP Board. This ensures oversight by experienced individuals who can confirm that all parties understand their responsibilities and that the animal’s welfare is prioritized. Adopter Responsibilities It is part of our adoption agreement that all medical treatments, veterinary costs, preventatives, food, and shelter are the sole responsibility of the adopter. Our goal is to place each animal in a loving, safe, and permanent home, and these guidelines help us ensure that every adoption is successful for both the pet and the adopter.
