Cocoa Puff's Story

Approx. 7 months old as January

We are looking for a special family to adopt a girl with a very special heart. Cocoa Puff came to our rescue over the summer from an overwhelmed home. While her siblings were all adopted, Cocoa Puff was found to have a special heart. She finally had her visit with the cardiologist recently, and she has a 3mm hole in her heart. Currently, it is not effecting her quality of life, activity level, or health. In one year, she will need a follow up visit to see if the hole has gotten bigger, smaller, or remained the same. She can potentially have a fully normal lifespan if the hole remains the same or shrinks. If the hole expands past 4mm, then she will need continued cardiology support and unfortunately may have a shortened lifespan.

Cocoa Puff is a happy-go-lucky girl who loves snuggles, pets, and attention (especially from her human foster mom). When she’s not busy playing, she’s curled up on a lap. She does well with other animals, but is also happy by herself too.

If you’d like any more information on Cocoa Puff, please reach out. Her follow-up appointment will be covered through the rescue and the cardiologist she sees travels in Northeast states.

We’re really hoping to find this special girl a furever home in the near future. Unfortunately, cats with heart diagnoses and defects have a very difficult time getting adopted, so please consider this wonderful girl!
