Cocoa's Story

PLEASE NOTE: You must complete an ADOPTION APPLICATION in order to receive a response. https://www.homeatlastrescue.ca/adoption-form/, or click on the "MORE ABOUT HOME AT LAST RESCUE" button in the bottom right for a direct link.

Looking for the sweetest girl who only wants to be loved and be near you? Meet Cocoa! This beautiful five-year-old tortie has a gentle presence and endearing nature that is sure to melt your heart. Once she chooses you as her person, she will enjoy being close by, keeping you company throughout the day with her gentle presence and soft chatter. She has an adorable way of talking to you, wanting to feel included and reassured that shes part of your world. Cocoa has an adorable morning routine where she reaches up, stretching her front legs towards you, asking to be picked up. She absolutely loves being held and enjoys perching on her persons shoulder while receiving pets and attention, before shes ready to start her day. This affectionate little lady eagerly awaits pets and scratches and will happily sleep on your bed, usually curled up near your feet. She also has a silly, playful side and loves batting around small toy balls, often trying to sneak them out of their basket for her own entertainment. When its time to recharge, Cocoa enjoys quiet time in her cozy cat bed. Cocoa may be shy at first, but with patience and kindness, she'll come out of her shell to reveal her truly sweet and affectionate nature. Cocoa forms strong bonds with her people and appears to be a girly girl, gravitating towards women's company. Cocoa MUST be the only cat in your home, and while she does well left alone for short periods, she would certainly love to soak up affection and companionship with people home often to keep her company.

Cocoa previously spent five years as part of a family, but was sadly surrendered after they adopted a dog that she did not get along with. As a result, she is looking for a calm, dog-free home where she can feel safe and relaxed.

Cocoa would do best in a patient and understanding home that will give her the time she needs to settle in and feel comfortable. In return, she will reward her people with deep loyalty, affection, and sweet daily routines that will brighten each day.

As we often receive numerous applications for each cat or kitten, we will only contact applicants who best suit the needs of the cat or kitten. For example, if it is stipulated that the cat needs another cat buddy at home and you do not have one, you may not receive a response. Finding the best home for our cat or kitten is our top priority. Applications are not first-come, first-served.
