Clover (FeLV Positive)'s Story

About 7 weeks ago, Clover came into our care with a broken leg and an uncertain future. Today, her leg has healed beautifully, and she's blossomed into a gorgeous, fluffy, playful, and affectionate little kitten!<br/><br/>Clover is doing AMAZING, but she does have one special consideration. She has progressive feline leukemia (FeLV), confirmed through two separate PCR tests. While this diagnosis may shorten her lifespan, Clover is currently healthy, happy, and enjoying life just like any other kitten! <br/><br/>She's spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and current on preventatives. She's currently in a wonderful foster home, but we'd love nothing more than to find her a family of her very own.<br/><br/>Because of her FeLV status, Clover needs an indoor home with no other cats or one with other FeLV-positive cats.<br/><br/>We know that her diagnosis may make finding a home a little harder, but we also know there's someone out there who will love this special girl for however much time she has. Star City Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy
Star City TNR and Rescue Adoption Policies: Indoor-Only Policy: All adopted cats must be kept indoors at all times to ensure their safety and well-being. No Declawing: Adopters must agree not to declaw their cat, as it is a painful and unnecessary procedure that can cause long-term behavioral and health issues. Return to Rescue: If an adopter can no longer care for their cat for any reason, they must return the cat to Star City TNR and Rescue rather than rehoming or surrendering it elsewhere. Adoption Fee: Our adoption fees help cover a portion of veterinary care, including spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, and any other necessary medical treatment. Fees are as follows: Kittens (under 6 months): $120 Adults (6 months – 7 years): $100 Seniors (7+ years): $50 Application Process: All potential adopters must complete an adoption application, which includes vet and personal references. Meet-and-Greet: Adopters are encouraged to meet the cat in its foster home or a designated adoption space to ensure a good fit. Landlord Approval: If the adopter rents their home, they must provide proof of pet-friendly housing. Home Environment: Adopters should ensure a safe and stable home environment, including introducing the new cat properly to any existing pets. Trial Period: In some cases, we may offer a short foster-to-adopt period to ensure the cat is a good match for the household. Post-Adoption Support: We remain available to offer guidance and support to adopters to ensure a smooth transition for their new pet.
