Cloey ***bonded with Maisy***'s Story

Cloey: lovably lazy 16 yr old with a little bit of sass

Cloey's story: I was adopted by my family from MSPCA in Methuen. I was an only child for about 4 or 5 years before my sister, Maisy, came along. It took some time to get to know her, but now we are inseparable for 12 years now.

I am a 16 yr old gorgeous dark calico, and a vision if I do say so myself. I enjoy laying infront of the sliding door during the day with the sun beating down on me in the winter, spring, and fall, but it is a bit warm to do that in the summer. I also have a cat tower near a window which I also frequent.

I am known to sleep back to back with my sister as well.

My sister and I both play with wand toys, and on occasion play with mouse toys and balls, but my favorite past time, I am sure will shock you, is sleeping, as most kitties do.

I am affectionate and loving. When my people are on the couch, I feel the need to get up onto the couch and and walk on them. I will sit with them while getting pats, then will be on my way. I do like things in moderation. And if you are petting me too much, I will meow at you or a hit you with my paw with no claws to let you know my limit has been reached. If you choose to ignore me, I will hit with a claw or two next time. You were warned. Huggies!

I am vocal when I am hungry, and will call to my family for dinner, like clockwork! No need to remind me when to eat. I get 1/3 of a cup in the AM and 1/3 at night. I also get some wet food mixed in at night as well.

I live with my sister and a Black Lab mix. This lab is one hyper pooch! I tolerate her, but really could do without her. Maybe a calmer dog would be more my pace. I have only lived with my sister kitty, so unsure how I would be with another kitty.

I had crystals in my urine and a Urinary Tract Infection about 6 years ago, and was started on a urinary died. In about May I went back to the vet because I was going more frequently, and the vet switched the food to a different urinary care diet, and I am even better on the new food than I was the old, especially with the supplement my family gives me. The food is about $109/bag for 20 lbs, which lasts about 3 months, and the supplements are $20. Not a bad investment in me, if I do say so myself!

I had a cracked tooth, but my vet says it does not bother me, and I agree.

My ideal home would be in a home with people who will allow me to be me, with my sister, and will hang out with us on occasion. Maybe a family with a mellow dog, or us as the only pets. Hyper dogs are not my thing!

Fitchburg Friends of Felines facilitates a foster to adopt program that places the intended adoptee with the potential adoptive family. This ensures that your feline companion is the perfect fit as well as provides support as you both transition into your new life together.

You can fill out an adoption application here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe1685w60NjfU2eeE55Cd57TAaEZU7bERjyY825EMto48sTQw/viewform

Please reach out to Fitchburg Friends of Felines directly at 978-222-3170 or fitchburgfriendsoffelines@gmail.com with questions. Fitchburg Friends of Felines, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are required to have a solid character reference, vet reference, and a site visit which can be conducted virtually. Due to MA regulations, we cannot intake pets from out of state. We offer a foster to adopt program to guarantee the intended kitty is a good fit for your family. We also require that all adopters agree to return the kitty should the adopter no longer be able to care for him or her in the future, or an agreed to person is identified to continue care for this kitty. We are not a brick and mortar; all available cats are kept in foster homes. Therefore, we would need time to schedule a visit to meet a kitty. We are happy to travel to match the perfect kitty for your family. Our adoption fees are normally $250 per cat, $350 for specialty breeds or exotics, and $50 less per kitty if interested in multiples. For specific questions, or for an adoption application, please feel free to reach out to us directly: fitchburgfriendsoffelines@gmail.com or call our hotline: 978-222-3170
