Clifford's Story

Meet Clifford!

His past:

A survivor from a horrible hoarding situation where he was kept locked up in a cage. This is Clifford and he has a sad story!

We are not sure how he ended up in a hoarding situation, but he was one of 12 cats who lived in hell for years. He lived in a filthy cage with a litterbox overflowing with waste. His food and water bowls were either empty or filthy with algae and dirty litter. Every cat had their own cage, except a group of 5 females. The singular cats lived in solitary, never experiencing the companionship of a human or another animal. Such inhumanity is very difficult to understand.

The space in his cage was tight only allowing him to sit, loaf, or turn around. This was his life 24/7 for years.

Clifford was one of the last ones rescued from that situation. He was shy when he arrived at our facility. He was fully vetted and was placed in foster care. Once he decompressed, he is showing his sweet and trusting side. Meet Clifford!

About Clifford:

I’m Clifford, a handsome 3-year-old boy with a heart of gold who is ready to find my forever home! After a rough start in life, I’ve completely blossomed in my foster home. I’ve discovered how much fun toys are, and I love every single second of playtime. Most of all, I am an absolute sweetheart who adores being petted, scratched, brushed, and showered with attention. I like to sit right up next to my foster Mom while she brushes me, and sometimes I get so relaxed and happy I look up at her as if to say, "this is SO nice!" If you’re looking for a loving companion to snuggle up with AND play with, I’m your guy! Also, I always use my litter box and I am really clean -- I do prefer a high-sided litter-box, but my foster Mom learned that even in a lower-sided litter box I do just fine with minimal litter mess outside the box (just the normal kind of litter mess, ;-)

His Ideal Home:

* Only Pet Preferred: I prefer to have all your love and attention to myself, so I’d do best as the only cat in the house. For certain there shouldn't be any other male cats in the home -- I've shown I don't care for them.
* Grooming: I do shed a little bit, but that just means extra bonding time during routine brushing sessions! This will also prevent hair-balls which I am a bit prone to.
* Environment: A comfortable, warm home with plenty of love, toys, and a cozy spot on the couch next to you.
* Diet: I love my food! I am currently eating Purina One dry kibble (about 3/4 cup per day) AND Friskies pate (anywhere from 1/2 of a 5.5 oz can to 3/4 of a 5.5 oz can, depending on my appetite on any given day. I love, love, LOVE my pate! Chicken and Liver is my favorite flavor but I like all the pates! I also LOVE Churu for a treat! I also love Temptations (almost any flavor will do, but my faves are Tuna and Dairy!) and Friskies Party Mix Chicken flavor.

At around 3 years young, Clifford is healthy, friendly, and fully ready to start his next chapter. Could you be the special person he's been waiting for?

If interested, please email Mirna at Mirnabowman.cdc@gmail.com
614-471-9000
Must be 24 or older.
Adoptions to Central Ohio homes only.
All dogs and cats in the home must be spayed/neutered.
Adoption Fee $100
