Claire's Story
This lovely white and brown longish-haired beauty arrived at SPIN with her housemate Celine. It will be pretty obvious when you meet her that she has very little trust of humans right now. This is the type of kitty that the SPIN volunteers rally around! Using all of our collective kitty tricks and wisdom, we are slowly getting her to warm up to us. And like nearly all shy, displaced, and scared kitties, the way to their hearts is through their bellies! Using Churu-like treats (squeezable tubes of goopy goodness beloved by felines) and delicious canned cat food, Claire is getting used to people bringing her nice things. She does enjoy full body pets and scritches around her neck, and will purr quite loudly when we do it right! We know it is a matter of time before she comes out of her shell.

There are many people who love the gregarious outgoing cats that have a way of catching everyone's attention at first sight. These kitties are loved by all and easily find themselves a home. Yet there are other people who see the quiet and hesitant cats and know that time, consistency, and patience are the keys to winning them over. And that there are no shortcuts. The reward for choosing the shy one is that the bond, once formed, is like no other. Come visit Claire at the SPIN home if you are the type of person who wants the pet that doesn't necessarily love everyone else.

Just one note. We believe that Claire is bonded with Celine and that they probably should go home together. However, we have noticed some friction between the two and are separating them for the time being to see if they adjust better separately. Come talk to us and see what you think!

--------------

Stray Pets In Need (SPIN) has weekly open adoption hours where you can drop in and meet our cats at 5 Overbrook Terrace, Natick, MA Fridays 5-7pm and Saturdays/Sundays 3-6pm.

If you are thinking of adopting Claire or any other of the SPIN kitties, before you come by consider first filling out an application to speed up the process:
www.straypetsinneed.org/adoptions/adoption-application.

All of our available cats are listed at: www.straypetsinneed.org/adoptions/adoptable-pets.

We look forward to meeting you and your family!
