SoCal Surviving Strays Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
As a smaller, new rescue I have an adoption application that ensures the owner lives in a home that allows the breed they are looking to adopt. My hope is that every rescue we adopt out will be kept as an inside/outside dog to sleep comfortably inside with their family, not left outside in the unpredictable weather temperatures. If adopting a specific breed and age I will ensure you have the knowledge or what is needed for that breed and that age. Expectations for puppies especially need to be reasonable. A lot of rescues have some past trauma and patience will be needed. Our rescue will give all the details up front so there are no surprises. If there are other dogs in the home you will be required to bring them to a meet and greet first to ensure they will get along. If that goes well, I will schedule their adoption at your home to ensure the place is adequate to house the pet. IF for some reason the rescue does not work out I will take the rescue back. We expect to have communication with the new parents for the first month with updates to ensure there's a smooth transition. This will help us understand if there's an issue and to plan to make space if the dog isn't doing well in the new home. A full refund of the adoption fee will be given if an honest attempt was made (no refunds for changing mind). The dog must have at least 2-3 weeks to decompress and give a chance. After 30 days if there hasn't been any communication or discussions prior to releasing dog back to rescue the adoption fee is considered a donation and the dog would still be required to go back to rescue under contract rules. If our rescue communicates anything differently it needs to be in writing through email correspondence.

Our Mission
As a small approved non-profit organization, our goal is to help our community keep animals out of the shelters and from ending up in the wrong hands. We bridge the gap to keep them safe off the streets while getting them healthy and spayed/neutered before they find their forever home.
