Cinder's Story

Cinder is a handsome house panther & our big beautiful boy!
When Cinder came in he was in need of socialization & had been through a traumatic situation. He hid under his sofa for 2 weeks coming out for food & to use his litter when no one was around. He eventually came out & would hide under the blanket on his sofa but would stay there when companions came in & allow them to pet him through the blanket & then under the blanket. After a short period he would retreat under the sofa so we finally took the legs off his sofa & built him a blanket fort to hide under. He adapted to that & allowed us to sit with him & pet him. He increasingly enjoyed the petting & started coming out to walk across our laps & finally started to settle into laps & actually play with toys with the companions.
Cinder has become quite a lap cat in recent months & weeks with his latest triumph being that he is able to meet a potential adopter & have some lap time with them after some gentle petting as an intro.
Cinder will need a patient owner with a quiet home. Cinder would be best as an only or one of a pair if the other cat is accepting & friendly & not dominant & bullying.
Cinder will need to meet his potential adopter & get to know them with a few visits to get comfortable with them before going to his new home & will be best off transitioning by staying in one room during his initial introduction to his new home so he is not overwhelmed.
Cinders special need is that he requires the patience & comfort of a traumatized cat.
Once he is comfortable & trusts you he will be your loyal, forever companion & you will have a hard time getting him off your lap & to stop headbutting you! He is a real love sponge with so much love to give!
He is so solid & handsome with silky smooth fur & beautiful golden eyes. He is truly a wonderful cat.
