Chuckie's Story

Meet Chuckie!

He's the brave, playful spirit of the Rugrats bunch. He's always on the move, chasing toys, diving through tunnels, and turning anything into a game. His curiosity gets the best of him in the cutest way he wants to explore everything and isn't afraid to try something new.

Chuckie absolutely loves feather toys and could spend all day batting them around or leaping after them. He's also a big fan of bird watching and will sit and stare, completely focused, like he's on a little mission of his own.

He has a energetic personality but still has a sweet side too. Once he's done playing, he turns into a total love bug. He loves to snuggle, will sleep belly up when he's comfortable, gives the cutest little head bumps, and happily soaks up pets. When he's really happy, he'll even do little circles around you!

A little background on Chuckie and his siblings: Rescued from a colony of nearly 55 community cats in Houston- Tommy, Chuckie, and Susie had a tough start. These Rugrats were born under a mobile home to a feral mom, growing up without human contact. When they first came into care, they were sick, scared, and unfamiliar with indoor life.

After weeks of medical treatment, patience, and socialization, their transformation has been incredible. They're now healthy, affectionate, playful, and love being held.

Chuckie and his siblings Tommy, and Susie can be visited at Teddy's Cat Cafe. Our single cat adoption fee is $200, or $350 for a pair.

If you're interested in adopting Chuckie, apply online at www.uppupandaway.org. Meet and greets only happen once approved as an adopter. If you're already an approved adopter or foster, feel free to DM your interest.

Up Pup and Away's Adoption Policy
How long will it take to process my application? We are a small rescue group who is ran by volunteers. Please allow us at least 3 business days to process your application and we will get back to you as soon as possible! Please note that we are not a first come first serve rescue. No meet and greets will be scheduled until you have gone through the adoption application & have been approved. Why is the adoption fee so expensive? Our rescues come from all over the globe, and their final destinations are here in Colorado. Our rescue runs solely on donations and adoption fees to continue to help as many dogs as we are able. Because our dogs do come from all different backgrounds (young, old, domestic transfers, international transfers, etc….), we must ensure they are healthy prior to adoption and also spayed/neutered (if of age*) to break the cycle of unwanted litters and pet overpopulation. The average spay/neuter cost here in the Denver area is between $250-$450 just in itself! Together, we can stop the pet overpopulation. I applied to adopt, now what? Please note that filling out an application does NOT mean you have been approved for adoption. We will review the applications and if we feel you are a good fit for the dog you are interested in, we will move forward with the adoption process. If we feel you are a great fit for an adopter, but just not for that specific dog, we will keep your application on file for future rescue pups needing homes. We will check your references, and once we feel you would make a great fit, we will schedule a phone screening. If approved to move forward, we will schedule a home check/meet and greet. Please note that just because you would have a meet and greet, you are NOT approved for adopting that dog. We have a strict policy for which dog ends up being adopted by which family. We are NOT a first come, first serve rescue. Meaning, if you are the very first person to apply, this does not mean you are a match. Our mission is to find each of our dogs their perfect home & we request you respect that.
