Chrissy's Story
*** Chrissy is at Cat & Craft in Vista. ***

Chrissy #18369: white/orange/black tabico, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 5/1/18

Cats: fine with non-bossy ones
Dogs: unknown
Children: calm late elementary+

BACKGROUND: Chrissy and her now-adopted siblings were living in a colony of homeless cats who are looked after and fed by a caretaker; however, predators moved in to the area and started hunting the cats. Concerned for their safety, she reached out to The Rescue House. After arriving in our care, it was discovered that Chrissy has an inflammatory condition called stomatitis. To treat it, she had a full dental extraction to remove all her teeth. A small amount of inflammation persisted, however, so she is on a daily maintenance medication to keep everything under control. She takes it well, especially when she gets a treat as a reward!

PERSONALITY: Chrissy is gentle, low maintenance, and appreciative of human kindness. She is very food-motivated and will happily dive into her meals without a trace of finickiness. Since she has no teeth now, she eats soft canned food (yum!) and gladly accepts lickable tube treats. Chrissy has a little of the famous calico cattitude and doesn’t let anyone push her around, but she’s also friendly and affectionate -- she just likes things to be on her terms, which does include not picking her up much so she can keep her paws under her own control. Ear rubs, pets, and a warm lap when she wants to curl up in a cozy ball are just the ticket, though, and she’ll reward your affection with a big rumbly purr. She is a happy and perky girl!

COMPATIBILITY: Chrissy gets along just fine with other cats who don’t try to boss her around. We don’t know her thoughts on dogs. She hasn’t met any children, though we feel calm and respectful kids who are late elementary age and up would work best.

Chrissy is looking forward to meeting her forever person! Will you be the lucky one?
