Chouchoune's Story

Born in 2019, this stunning 7-year-old kitty has lived a life marked by change and loss - none of it her doing. She has been surrendered twice: once alongside a bonded companion who was later adopted without her, and most recently by a sweet elderly couple who adored her but faced sudden health and mobility challenges that left them sad to let her go.

Through it all, Chouchoune (Chou) has remained gentle, sweet - even regal. Chou is a sweet kitty who appreciates affection from humans she trusts, enjoys watching the world go by from a sunny window, and is beautifully respectful of boundaries — she is even trained to stay off furniture!

After such a tumultuous start to life, Chou would thrive in a calm, stable environment. She may do well with a gentle younger feline companion, but can equally flourish as a solo cat with an adopter committed to daily play and mental enrichment. Given so much loss and upheaval, this sweet girl deserves one thing above all else: a home she never has to leave again.

Chou is fully vetted and up to date on all veterinary care, including a recent dental cleaning.

NOTE 1: Spays, neuters, first vaccinations and vet checks are included in the adoption fee.

NOTE 2: Because a young kitten needs feline companionship, it is the policy of Cat Rescue Network that kittens 6 months or younger be adopted out in pairs unless there is another kitten or young cat already in the home.

NOTE 3: Cat Rescue Network only adopts their cats to homes in the National Capital region of Canada
