Chips and Fish - bonded's Story
Fish & Chips - Chosen Family

Meet Fish & Chips - Although these 2 are deeply bonded and only have half a tail each, they are not related. F & C each came to NWAC with completely separate needs and timelines back in December 2025. Fish (White with Tabby Toupee) was hit by a car when he was a few months old and pulled from the municipal shelter by NWAC for surgery. On the other hand, Chips (Fluffy Tiny Tabby) was brought into rescue very young with a sister who needed special medical attention. He was the best emotional support brother, but his sister did not survive and he was left alone just days before Christmas. In need of love, he was introduced to Fish, (a singleton in his own right) and sent to a foster home together. What unfolded in the next 6 months was a story of friendship, love and resilience told by 2 cats that fell in love through adversity.

Fish received his FHO surgery shortly after entering foster care and started his long recovery. We expected him to be in foster care MUCH longer than Chips, but that was not going to happen. During Fish's recovery, Chips fell extremely ill with FIP (a once fatal infection.) Despite multiple trips to the emergency vet and around the clock care, we almost lost him multiple times. That was a hard time for everyone, but especially Fish. He had grown fond of his fluffy friend and seemed to miss his presence while he was away. Once Chips was out of immediate danger and home, we made the very easy decision to adopt them out as a bonded pair. You see, Chips was about to embark on 12 weeks of FIP treatment and Fish, in the midst of his own recovery, had clearly laid claim to the little guy. By the time they would each be fully recovered, we knew their bond would be inseparable and WE WERE RIGHT! Fish and Chips are the best duo - a perfect mix of keeping you on your toes and sweet comfort.

Despite being bonded and totally obsessed with one another, these 2 have very different personalities! Chips is a firecracker with little to no regard for personal space and Fish is a mellow boy happy to snuggle nearby in a sunbeam. They love chasing each other and (despite Fish's Hip surgery) are athletic young lads that enjoy climbing cat shelves and exploring their space. The pair never cease to have endless fun when they are together. In fact, during their time in foster, Fish and Chips' have racked up over 180M views on Instagram with their antics. Both have since made full recoveries from their respective ailments and are ready to find their forever home! Fish and Chips currently live with 11 other cats and 1 50lbs dog. They will do well in a home with other polite pets OR would be more than happy to spend eternity with just each other and YOU!

Interested in adopting Fish & Chips? Negative test for FIV and FeLV.

Northwest Animal Companions is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the pets in our care.
