CHIP's Story
Meet Chip, the senior long haired beauty! Chip was previously an indoor-outdoor cat. Her previous guardian said she is a real sweetheart. She lived with another cat, who was not a big fan of her. She would hide when people would come over with their dogs. Strangers without dogs who would visit were considered friends in Chip’s books! Since her arrival to the Shelter, Chip has been social with people – doing some light chatting and enjoying head pets. A home that allows her to have indoor-outdoor access may be a fit moving forward or Chip may be just as happy to be indoors with her people. A middle-aged gal, with a luxurious coat, Chip will require regular brushing, and she is also in need of a dental cleaning, so although her personality is easy-going and low-maintenance, her adopter should be prepared to provide her with the bit of extra care that her coat and her age require. Chip's adoption fee is reduced by $20 thanks to Shelley's Angels - a fund that draws adopter's eyes towards often overlooked senior cats in Shelters. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
