Chestnut's Story

Chestnut is a sweet, playful boy who comes from a litter of six kittens born in Brooklyn, NY. He and his siblings are from an overwhelmed owner who was taking care of several cats after the population quickly got out of control in her household.

We recently took Chestnut to get neutered and learned that he has a heart murmur. Upon getting an echocardiogram done, we learned that he has severe biatrial enlargement in his heart, leading to a guarded prognosis. His little heart is not formed normally and this cannot be changed.

Although we cannot risk surgery for Chestnut, we hope to find an adoptive or long term foster home to help him happily and comfortably live the rest of his days. He has a weak heart, but an incredibly strong will to live.

If you'd like to learn more about what long term foster care or adoption for Chestnut would look like, please do not hesitate to reach out!
