Cheetah's Story

Meet Cheetah, a handsome 6½-year-old boy with a gentle soul and a heart that is slowly learning to trust again. Cheetah came to us a couple of months ago after his guardian was no longer able to care for him. Like many cats who suddenly lose the only home they’ve known, Cheetah was understandably confused and frightened when he arrived at the shelter.

At first, he kept very much to himself and wasn’t sure what to make of all the new sights, sounds, and people around him. But over time, Cheetah has begun showing us what a sweet and loving boy he truly is. He now comes up to the front of his cage to greet visitors and has started accepting gentle pets and attention from the staff and volunteers he trusts. Watching him slowly come out of his shell has been incredibly rewarding.

Cheetah is still a shy boy, and he will need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. We know that once he feels safe and secure in a calm, loving home, his personality will continue to blossom. Beneath that timid exterior is a wonderful companion who simply wants to feel loved again.

Cheetah would do best with someone willing to give him the time, understanding, and reassurance he needs to settle in at his own pace. In return, you’ll have the joy of watching a scared cat transform into a devoted friend.

Could you be the one to give this good-looking boy the second chance he deserves?

For more information and instructions on how to apply, please visit https://thepetrefuge.org/adopt/ Completing an adoption application is always the first step. Shelter visits are by appointment only and available to applicants whose applications have been approved.

We also invite you to follow us on social media: Facebook at Pet Refuge, TikTok @petrefugenk and Instagram @petrefugeri
