A whole Cheese Sandwich is ready to be enjoyed! Cheese is a sweet, gentle, sensitive boy who has spent the last year working with our director to become the confident, social, and happy boy he once was. His family loved him dearly, but experienced a series of tragedies that placed too much stress on him. We stepped on to offer emergency assistance and as a team, we decided the best option would be to find someone in need of a hero like him.<br/><br/>Cheese has generalized anxiety, however, he has dramatically improved with an increasingly more busy and active environment. Our care team, which includes a Certified Feline Behavior and Training Specialist and a Feline Friendly Veterinary Practice, have an easy care plan to help him succeed (we are always a call away!). <br/>Cheese is seeking a calm, settled home where he can soak up all of your attention, have long conversations (he meows like a goat-maybe he's bilingual?), have tall trees to scratch, juicy meaty treats, and feather wands to chase. He will occasionally follow his foster into the yard, but typically runs back in after 2-4 feet. He doesn't have super cat skills, but is generally polite with older females (no kittens or pushy boys). He previously lived with dogs and is visually comfortable with large, calm dogs; a potato dog may be a good sidekick for him. He enjoys spending time with his purrson on the couch, in bed, and loves solving puzzles for treats.<br/><br/>This foster home belongs to our Director and works with the cats who are considered unadoptable when they arrive. This home specializes in cats who have been abused, neglected, abandoned, and who have severe medical concerns upon arrival. They are also our spicy kitten socialization guru and their superheroes are always learning new skills. This home has 2 large, low energy dogs, multiple foster cats, and frequent visitors. <br/><br/>Thank you for learning more about me! Fosters are microchipped, combo tested for FIV/FELV, spayed/neutered, treated for fleas/parasites, and receive age/wellness appropriate vaccines. We lovingly pack a Welcome Home Hero gift bag with their favorite toys, treats, a comic to read with them, and a blanket that helps them feel safe anywhere they go.
