Cheerio's Story

Hi, my name is Cheerio! I'm a RED pawprint, which means I need an experienced home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Independent, sensitive, easily overstimulated, playful
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - slow and supervised introductions.
-Can Live with Dogs: Unknown history - slow and supervised introductions.
-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history - recommending cat savvy kids 12+ at this time. Up to counselor's discretion.
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Highly encouraged.
-History of Litter Box Issues: No
-Energy Level: Medium/High
-Bite History: No
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, spay/MC.

Meet Cheerio - a young cat looking to find her purrrrfect human match. She was found scrounging around outside when someone brought her in to ensure she received care before making her way into her forever home. We're still learning about Cheerio's personality and expect that as she gets more comfortable she'll gain confidence and grow into her personality. We have noticed that Cheerio can easily become overstimulated, so we think she'd do best with cat savvy adopters who are confident in reading her body language. If you think Cheerio might be the right fit for you, please fill out an application to meet her!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
