As the months passed, the shelter environment became increasingly stressful for him. Like many adult cats, the noise, constant transitions, and lack of a stable home began to wear on his spirit. The shelter reached out to Justice for Paws Animal Rescue for help, and one of our very own fosters flew him here to begin a new chapter.<br/><br/>Since arriving, Cheddar has completely blossomed in foster care. Away from the chaos of the shelter, his true personality has emerged — affectionate, gentle, and endlessly cuddly. He loves curling up beside his people, soaking in attention, and simply being near those he trusts. Watching him decompress and finally feel safe has been incredibly rewarding.<br/><br/>Adult cats like Cheddar are so often overlooked simply because they are no longer kittens, but they have so much love to give. What makes adopting an adult cat so special is that you already know who they are. Their personalities are established, their temperaments are easier to match with families, and many are already litter trained and settled into routines. So many adult cats end up waiting far longer in shelters, confused and heartbroken as younger kittens are chosen first.
