Charlotte's Story

Meet Charlotte! She’s a shy girl at heart, and it takes her a little time to feel safe in a new space, but once she does, she really opens up. She enjoys pets and attention, especially on her terms, and will gently nudge your hand when she’s ready for more. She’s not the most playful cat, but she is very curious and loves exploring little hiding spots around the house. She’s never been aggressive, not a single bite or scratch, and is very food-motivated (she’ll eat pretty much anything you offer). Her favorite things include her cardboard scratcher, soft blankets, and anywhere quiet she can curl up and feel secure. She would do best in a calm, low-traffic home where she can take her time adjusting and bond at her own pace. She deserves a loving, patient home and would make a great low-key, independent companion for someone who values quiet company.

She makes endless biscuits. She has the meow of a baby kitten, it's absolutely precious. Charlotte enjoys being around other cats but would also be totally fine as the only kitty in the household. She may be a little too quiet & reserved for any loud dogs or young children.

Currently in foster care. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation.

All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption.

To begin the application process, please fill out our application here: https://form.jotform.com/212117959297062

We will try our best to be in touch within 24-48 hours.

Thank you!
____________________
Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.

We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.

We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.

When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family.

If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
Please send us an email at delgatorescue@gmail.com to be a part of our rescue community. Thanks for your support!
